LOGISTICS PLATFORMS
CAMRAIL operates from 3 terminals located in Bélabo, Ngaoundéré and Douala respectively. Bélabo, Ngaoundéré et Douala.
The Bélabo timber terminal, operated by SOMAC [a company owned by AGL Cameroun (45%), Maersk (22.5%) and UTA (22.5%)] serves CAR and northern Congo.
It is interconnected with the rail network and is supported by numerous warehouses and facilities dedicated to freight forwarders and the administrations in charge of customs, health, safety and wildlife.
The Ngaoundéré container terminal operated by SMN (Société de Manutention de Ngaoundéré) serves Chad and northern Cameroon, with a capacity of 1,350 TEU. It is interconnected to the rail network. The warehouses located in the railway area facilitate rail-road connectivity.
The Bessengue mixed terminal is the collection and processing center for flows to and from Douala. Interconnected with the Port of Douala and the Société Camerounaise de Dépôts Pétroliers (SCDP) central depot, the Bessengue site is attached to the Bassa central workshops.
Freight services
CAMRAIL is developing partnerships with shipping lines (MAESRK - CMA-CGM - MSI). This enables us to optimize the container rotation cycle and triangulation/recycling at our Ngaoundéré and Bélabo logistics platforms.
A memorandum of understanding signed between CAMRAIL and Customs on April 11, 2003, led to the creation and fitting-out of customs offices at the Douala, Yaoundé, Bélabo and Ngaoundéré rail sites, designed to facilitate transport and transit on the Douala-N'Djaména and Douala-Bangui corridors.
CAMRAIL the French customs authorities are creating a break bulk zone for logs at the Douala - Bessengue railway station. As part of this partnership, CAMRAIL is implementing the single transit permit.
